DRAGON SCALES Knitting Stitch Pattern: 8-Stitch Repeat
This post was originally published in 2019 and has been updated with a new high-resolution chart, photo, FAQ section and improved instructions for 2026.
The Dragon Scales stitch is one of my favorite ways to add depth and movement to a project without the bulk of traditional cables. It creates a beautiful, overlapping geometric texture that looks intricate but is surprisingly rhythmic to knit. Part of our growing library, this 8-stitch repeat is a versatile choice for anyone looking to add an architectural touch to their next cast-on.
| Skill level | Multiple | Repeat | Reversible |
