Lace into Spring: Mystery Knit-Along 2026

Welcome to our intermediate journey into the world of lace! This Hub is your home base for the next 13 weeks. Bookmark this page to find release schedules, material lists, and helpful tutorials.

Getting Started: The Essentials

Lace knitting is a beautiful dance of yarn overs and decreases. To ensure your spring throw is as airy and elegant as intended, please review the following requirements:

  • Skill Level: Intermediate. You should be comfortable with basic increases and decreases. If you are new to charts, please download our Chart Symbols & Abbreviations Guide.
  • The Project: A stunning 20-block throw. We will be revisiting 16 “Lace Classics” from the Oh La Lana! archives (updated and revised for 2026) plus 4 brand-new mystery designs.
  • Total Yardage:
    • Per Block: Approx. 141 yds (129 m) of Sport weight yarn.
    • Full Blanket (20 blocks): Approx. 2,820 yards (2,580 m).
    • Tip: If holding lace-weight yarn double, you will need double the yardage (approx. 5,640 yds).
  • Recommended Tools: US 4 (3.5 mm) needles, high-contrast stitch markers, and a complete blocking kit (mats and pins).
  • Gauge: 23 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (4″ x 4″) in stocking stitch using US 4 (3.5 mm) needles.

The “Lace Secret”: Blocking

Lace often looks like a “shriveled” mess while on the needles. The magic happens during blocking! By stretching and pinning your finished squares, you “open up” the eyelets to reveal the intricate patterns.
