I ran out of grey yarn after block 8. I ordered some more online from a shop here that was open for deliveries and… they had to close again! Oh, well… The trouble of getting yarn during a pandemic, right?
Luckily I have more of the same yarn in other colors, so I guess I’ll have another multicolor blanket 😀
Enjoy your knitting!

THE ENTIRE PATTERN (written and charted) IS BELOW.
– CO 65 sts with US 6 (4 mm) needles.
|I always cast on and bind off stitches with larger needles than I use for the main work. This prevent my cast on and bind off rows from being too tight.|
– With US 4 (3,5 mm) needles, knit 6 rows.
|Slip first stitch on every row as if you were to knit it, but without knitting it (except on the first row). It will form a neat and sturdy border.|
– Continue working as follows:
5 garter sts, LACE PATTERN N°9 over 55 sts, 5 garter sts.
Work 11 times the LACE PATTERN N 9 complete and then rows 1) to 5) again.
– Knit 6 rows.
– Bind off with US 6 (4 mm) needle. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
– Block your square to its final measures.
Row 1) (RS) [p2, yo, k4, k2tog, k5], p3
Row 2) k3, [p5, p2tog, p3, yo, p1, k2]
Row 3) [p2, k2, yo, k2, k2tog, k5], p3
Row 4) k3, [p5, p2tog, p1, yo, p3, k2]
Row 5) [p2, k5, skp, k4, yo], p3
Row 6) k3, [p1, yo, p3, p2togtbl, p5, k2]
Row 7) [p2, k5, skp, k2, yo, k2], p3
Row 8) k3, [p3, yo, p1, p2togtbl, p5, k2]
AFTER knitting lace pattern N°8 and the garter st rows (or one of the lace patterns separators I shared for the seamless version of this KAL), you’ll have 195 sts again in your needle.
Continue working as follows:
6 garter sts, LACE PATTERN N°9 over 183 sts, 6 garter sts
After knitting the Lace Pattern for 4’’ (10 cm), ending with a WS row, work 4 rows
in garter stitch, increasing 5 sts evenly in the first row (you end up with 200 sts)
and decreasing 5 sts evenly in the last row (you end up with 195 sts again).
I calculated the final length for the seamless blanket assuming that each lace pattern is to be knitted for approx. 4’’ (10 cm), with 4 rows of garter stitch in between lace patterns.
Row 1) (RS) [p2, yo, k4, k2tog, k5], p1
Row 2) k1, [p5, p2tog, p3, yo, p1, k2]
Row 3) [p2, k2, yo, k2, k2tog, k5], p1
Row 4) k1, [p5, p2tog, p1, yo, p3, k2]
Row 5) [p2, k5, skp, k4, yo], p1
Row 6) k1, [p1, yo, p3, p2togtbl, p5, k2]
Row 7) [p2, k5, skp, k2, yo, k2], p1
Row 8) k1, [p3, yo, p1, p2togtbl, p5, k2]
k all sts, all rows.
