DIAMOND PADDING Knitting Pattern

My DIAMOND PADDING knitting pattern can be used to create dishcloths / washcloths, or as a blanket block as in my BEGINNER Sampler Blanket Knitting Pattern. If you want to add this pattern to your Ravelry library, click here.

PLEASE NOTE that this square is the same I shared during my “12 Blocks for Xmas” KAL in 2018. Although this is a revised version, in high quality PDF format and with some extra features, the individual block pattern can be found in my blog.

PATTERN DETAILS

The high quality PDF file includes:

– US and Metric needle sizing and dimensions.
– abbreviations
– charted and written instructions
– row-by-row control table: specially prepared for novice knitters. The table has integrated instructions for the block pattern AND edge stitches, to avoid confusion. You can use the cells to check each row as you finish it, and there is a column for every repeat of the pattern you need to make according to the instructions. A great resource to print and check your progress as you knit.

SKILL LEVEL
Beginner

MATERIALS
– 1 straight needle US 8 (5 mm) for Casting on and Binding Off sts.
– 1 pair of straight needles US 7 (4.5 mm).
– Approx. 95 yds (87 m) of worsted / aran yarn. OR 190 yds (174 m) of fingering or sport yarn USED DOUBLE.
– Tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends and scissors.

GAUGE / TENSION
18.5 sts x 25 rows in stocking st with US 7 (4.5 mm) needles = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length / Width: approx. 10’’ (25 cm).
❤ PLEASE NOTE: the final measurement will vary if your tension is different than mine or if you decide to knit your dishcloth/block with another yarn weight and needle size.

TECHNIQUES USED

CO: cast on
P: purl
K: knit
BO: bind off.
