12 BLOCKS FOR XMAS patterns adapted to 52 SQUARE PICKUP measures
The file includes all 12 BLOCKS FOR XMAS patterns, revised and adapted to 52 SQUARE PICKUP measures. Skill level: BEGINNER.
I recently published my revised version of my BEGINNER SAMPLER BLANKET (the one made during my “12 Blocks for Xmas” KAL. As you already know, the “12 Block for Xmas” squares from my 2018 KAL had different amounts of stitches and rows than the blocks I’m publishing this year in my “52 Square Pickup” KAL.
I received several messages asking me if I could adjust the 2018 patterns to fit into the 52SP series. It took me a good amount of time, but I did it! So here they are 🙂
MATERIALS
- 1 straight needle US 7 (4.5 mm) for Casting on and Binding Off sts.
- 1 pair of straight needles US 6 (4 mm).
- For EACH BLOCK: approx. 70 yds (64 m) of DK yarn (8 ply). OR 140 yds (128 m) of light fingering yarn (approx 3 ply) USED DOUBLE.
- Tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends and scissors.
GAUGE / TENSION
21 sts x 28 rows in stocking st with US 6 (4 mm needles) and DK yarn = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm)
CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH SQUARE
- All the blocks have the same number of sts (43 sts)
- All the blocks have the same number of rows (63 rows)
- all require a skill level of BEGINNER (only use knits and purls!)
TECHNIQUES USED
CO: cast on
P: purl
K: knit
BO: bind off.
