BLOCK 9 of Blanket MKAL 2022

When you have Block 9 nearly finished, pay attention to the decrease BEFORE knitting the garter stitch band: instead of decreasing 3 sts in the first row you should only decrease 1 st. That’s because you end up with 2 fewer sts in the last row of the pattern (row 17).

Have a joyful weekend! 💙

INSTRUCTIONS

– CO 70 sts with US 6 (4 mm) needles.

– With US 4 (3.5 mm) needles, knit 6 rows. In the last row, increase 3 sts distribuited (73 sts).

– Continue working as follows:

5 garter sts, BLOCK N°9 pattern over 63 sts, 5 garter sts

Work 3 times the Block N°9 pattern complete and then rows 1) to 17) again.

Knit 6 rows, decreasing 1 st in the first row to return to a total stitch count of 70 –> you need to decrease only 1 at this point because in the last 17 row of the pattern you’ve already decreased 2 sts.

– Bind off with US 6 (4 mm) needle. Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Block your square to its final measures. You can read my post on blocking if you need more info.
