“12 Blocks for Xmas”
A new free knitting project to make a blanket in blocks.
Hi there, and welcome to my new free knitting project to make a blanket in blocks.
If you missed the introduction to this project, please visit this article to find out the details (materials, gauge and schedule).
I’ll be listing below each block for the blanket, as soon as I release it, with the link to its pattern. Just a simple way to get all the info for the “12 Blocks for Xmas” blanket organized in one place 🙂
Remember that every single block has a skill level of BEGINNER (only knits and purls), so everyone is welcome to join!!
You can upload photos of your results for each block to Ravelry or share them on Instagram with the tags #ohlalanadesigns #freeblanketofblocks #12blocksforXmas #freeblanketKAL I’d love to see them!!
If you have any doubt, write me in the comments box. And I will be happy to help.
XO,
Cecilia

One of my favorites 🙂
EXTRA BLOCK “BREATHE”
BLOCK 5: CHAINS
This one has an elastic structure, and needs to be ironed or blocked.
BLOCK 6: STAIRS
One of my absolute favorites. Rich in texture and with an elaborate appearance.
BLOCK 7: RHOMBI
BLOCK 8: PINWHEEL
Formerly known as “Windmills”, until someone remind me the right word!
BLOCK 9: POLKA DOTS
This one comes with a twist: you have to choose which side you like the most.

BLOCK 10: BASKET
One of the most beautiful beginner patterns, in my opinion.
BLOCK 11: DIAGONAL
Look carefully at the instructions for side sts, they are a bit different than the previous ones.

A beautiful double chevron design for our last block 🙂
